Ok, figured out how to do the floor board replacement and a guy to weld it up for me. One last question. For floor board replacements, any suggestions on steel vs. aluminum. I can see benefits to both! I am in CA so rust from here on out shouldn't be a problem. I am torn between steel and maybe diamond plate aluminum.

Thanks for any ideas.

You can't weld aluim. to steel! The only option you have is steel! Unless of course you have an aluim tub! If you did you would'nt need new floor pans! I'd weld in new steel and use a spray/roll on bedliner inside and as an undercoating also! Good Luck. Kurt

Steel only choice, the aluminum "cover over" floorpans you are seeing are meant to be screwed or rivited over the rust.

Now if you were shelling out the cash for an entire tub I would say aluminum!

Well I guess I should have read the first post before I voted. I agree if you were replacing the tub, go aluminum. But since you are just putting new floors in it, steel.
