Im currently replacing everything on the steering system. While im at it, is it worth it to install a gearbox brace (picture) and the heavier duty gearbox mounting bracket?? Also, does the brace interfere with the swaybar mount?? Thanks in advance

I have both from MORE. Put them on months ago. Just got back from Moab. Dam I’m glad I put those on. I did HD Tie Rod and drag link flipped to top. I needed a little longer link for sway bar.

Yes. MORE bracket, Borgeson shaft, PSC box & hydro assist and MORE brace are all on my scrambler.

I am doing the flip as well. Looks.like I'm ordering the brace and bracket then. Thank you all.
Been busy on the jeep. Rebuilt steering column, new steering shaft, all new bushings, all new bearings, 1 piece axles, rear disc conversion, RE lift, all new brake lines, list goes on... Shooting to have it on the road this year. Fingers crossed.

Yes, to both on mine. I don’t have a swaybar any more. I did the column bearing, Borguson steering shaft, PSC steering box, Ruff Stuff box mount and I don’t know who’s brace I used.

I did the same, but now thinking about adding some hydro assist ;-)

I don’t believe I need that for what I’m doing. Not going bigger than 33s and sure didn’t feel like I needed something like that. The guy I Jeep caravaned with to Moab installed that months ago. Guess I need to ask if there was much difference and was it needed.

Roger that, I'm running 40"s ;-)

I have the Wolfe steering column bearing, Borgeson shaft, MORE relocation steering box mount, PSC big bore box and pump with hydraulic assist cylinder. The cylinder does reduce steering effort offroad. It greatly reduced play and any shimmy on road as well. My 8 steers like a modern vehicle now. Only thing I would do different is make my own steering box mount. The MORE is a nice unit, but it is angled down too much.

Good intel.
my 8 is rock solid hands-off at 80mph on road, but off road the terrain uses the leverage of the 40:s against you. ;-)

Reinforces the steering box to reduce flex between the box and frame, especially during hard steering or trail impacts. It reduces lateral stress on the sector shaft bearing inside the steering gearbox. This is important because excess flex can lead to premature bearing wear or even shaft misalignment—causing internal damage or play in the steering. You'll likely extend the life of both the steering gearbox and its internal bearings, which are notoriously sensitive to excessive side-loads.

Dirty for sale plug, but could save you money... my apologies, but I have a brace for sale if you are still looking to buy.
I had to order one that was "unfinished" and not welded together for modifications I wanted to do tot he brace to work with the aftermarket frame I had.

So, it was going to cost more to ship it back, so I kept it. Been up on CL for a couple months.
