What kind of feedback would you leave if you were me?

I've been on a temporary layoff for 5 weeks now. I normally work a lot of hours so my projects usually don't progress along very fast. Having family and an old house, etc, Jeep time is further down on the priority list but I do enjoy it. With the layoff I have been able to really catch up on things. One thing that has been really frustrating though is ordering Jeep parts. When I was first told I was being laid off I ordered a rear leaf spring mount kit and body mount bushing kit from Quadratech for my 82 Scrambler. In a week the body mount kit showed up but no spring mount kit. After a few days I called and asked about it, the guy said, " Oh it looks like that kit has been back ordered, it will probably be July before it comes". Now an email or some communication would have been nice, not just leaving me hanging, waiting and wondering. I told the guy it's pretty rare for me to have time off like this, I can't wait that long. He then said, " you ordered the Crown kit, we do have the Omix kit in stock, it is a bit more money ". I said well if you can get it here pretty quick send it. When it showed up it had 2 drivers side spring mount plates in the kit and no passenger side. One plate was packaged with the correct part number and label for passenger side right rear but it had a left rear in the bag. So I call them, explain my problem. Tell him it's the right package, wrong part. He apologized and said the right one is on it's way. A week goes by a Quadratech box shows up with the exact same part also in the right package but the wrong part. I called to explain this again and I told the guy on the phone, I know this is not your fault. I also know it's not the guy that pulled the order's fault, but you can see why I would be frustrated, what kind of feedback would you leave if you were me. He said, " I understand your frustration and I'm sorry...it's kind of like when you go thru a drive thru and order a cheeseburger and they give you something else, you just have to pull back around". What kind of feedback would you guys leave? I've got 5 weeks into this.

Also after the first order was wrong I decided to rob the spring mount from my 81 Scrambler. When I went to take it off the shock mount broke. In frustration I went in the house and looked up a passenger side spring mount from another company since I need 2 now. I ordered one from a place called Parts Geek. They raped me on shipping but I did get my part in 3 days and it was the correct part. BUT the shock mount was welded on crooked. I cut it loose and rewelded it just so I could keep some forward progress. What a circus!

I've had that happen. I try to make sure these days to ask if the part is in stock first thing. But the other thing getting the wrong part would set me off by that point.

I'll be honest, I'm old school, I hate ordering stuff online but I know it's a must sometimes whether it be because of availability, selection or saving money. A lot of these parts new are a gamble when it comes to quality also.

It's not Quadratec's fault the wrong part is in the right package. It does suck though.
A notice it was backordered would have been nice.

Yes and no. Once this kind of thing pops up, it should flag someone to check what’s on the shelf with the supplier, particularly if you have to send a replacement to the same person who found the issue initially. This is the kind of non-customer-focused service that is killing the reputations of these companies. They just 100% don’t give one tiny $&@%

Exactly, how much time would I have been waiting needlessly when all it would have took was an email. If they didn't have it in stock and told me up front I would have respected that.

I agree, often I see people ask " where can I get this or that"? I always want to say well it's a crapshoot, good luck!

for the first time ever, I just canceled an order from quadratec because it has been three weeks waiting for a T176 front bearing that they are having drop shipped, I have called three times and have gotten no information
This is the same bullshit that has caused me not to purchase from four-wheel-drive hardware or four wheel parts in several years

I had a similar experience years back when I ordered a Warn rear bumper/tire carrier from a vendor who's since retired. The bolt holes were 1/4 inch off and took it back to get another off the shelf. Again a 1/4 inch off. Now I'm thinking about the lack of quality control AMC is known for. The store let Warn know of the issue and I imediately get a call from Warn tech asking for measurements. After measuring, it seems that when Warn set up the jig to drill holes, they were off the 1/4 inch and they do a 100 piece run. After the two I ran across they were expecting 98 more to come back. They sent me the correct bumper with a thank you note and a credit for the cost of the bumper. That's the way to run a business instead of pointing a finger at someone else and trying to deflect the responsibility.

I have run into the issue of back-order without letting you know. What is more infuriating is spending extra for overnight delivery just to wait months for it to get in stock.

simply letting you know they are only a broker and just pass your money on to the company that actually fulfills your order would be nice.

Looks like a minimum they would have checked the replacement part they sent out after the wrong part was sent.

That IS on Qtec. I'd be writing a very detailed review. No excuse in that.
