I thought he was moving to Kansas or something the last time he was posting... not sure if I am remembering that correctly or not.

Yeah, I recall him moving from CO to KS before he went MIA from both forums.

I was re-reading Eric's Jambo fly-n-drive thread (https://www.cj-8.com/forum/showthread.php?37919-Jambo-496-in-CO-3500&highlight=) and realized Walkerhound hasn't posted here for a long time. Checked JF and his last log-in over there is the same May 2014 date as here.

Certainly someone here has an update or number to check in w/ him.

Sorta strange that such an active member goes MIA on both forums.

Hope all is well.

I emailed him a week or so ago. He is in Kansas now. He told me he travels a lot now for work and is only home a few weeks a month. I assume.the travel has made it hard to work on the Scrambler, which he still has.

Traveling a lot would certainly explain the MIA status from the boards - thanks for the info AJ!

Guess it's all perspective. I travel lots and it pushes me here to live vicariously through everyone here who can see and work on their rig........

True.

Some would also use work travel as a means to hunt down NOS parts and rare/original/low mile CJ's too.

I like that idea, but I usually fly to destinations and get chauffeured around by my guys. I'd feel bad using their gas and time to chase parts......

I wouldn't. Hehe. "What are you doing?" "Oh you know, more bloody emails, work follows me everywhere"
Interesting though how you become accustomed to a certain way of things then that way changes by a degree, like a member going AWOL, and it's noticed by more than yourself. Sometimes though life does get in the way

Hey guys - unfortunately, the rumors of me parting out my Scram are a bit premature ;) I wanted to thank Alex and Jason for giving me a little prod. The short of it is that my T4 went out in March and I went through a tranny swap over the summer. Couldn't figure it out but something just wasn't right with the clutch.

After hearing from Alex and Jason, I decided to take some time off of work this week with temps in the 60s and reinspect. Turns out the clutch arm pivot ball was missing, causing the clutch to whirr a bit when not depressed, and partly affecting shifting.

I got it all buttoned back up but it seems like getting into second from third, or first from second, is a little difficult. It becomes a little easier when the transmission gets warmed up, so I have a feeling it's a lubricant issue. Isn't that always the case when something doesn't shift right.

Thanks for your concern, I'll be around a little more now that I have something to talk about, but work (and the new fiance) has me strapped for time most days :)

Yeah, we got engaged in August and to be honest it's one of the more consuming time commitments I have, especially since we moved to Kansas and don't have a lot going on here but each other.

Getting married in October in Rocky Mountain National Park, and it took us a month to work through that. I swear women care about nothing but the date and planning once they get engaged. Me, I could care less where or when in Colorado we have it or where in Colorado we have the reception. My only criteria is that it be in Colorado.

Did you wheel tuttle today? Weather was right....

No - just wheeled around the block once or twice to learn how shifting goes with this new transmission. Still working out the kinks.

Plus, I've got a bunch of this reddish-orange colored stuff that started appearing. Never seen it before I moved from Colorado:

Tell me about it. I'm half the man I used to be. Well, twice if you consider how much weight I've gained since meeting such a great cook.

Getting old is rough - on me and the Jeep.
