With the length of the tail on an 8, any loads placed behind the rear axle actually decrease the load on the front axle.

Yep, that's why I load all my heavy stuff near the bulkhead, only light stuff near tailgate, and no longer use a hitch rack. It is easy to "Carolina Squat" the Scrambler and the steering will get very loose feeling at high speeds.
