It appears the timing chain was swapped at somepoint to an old cloyes brand possibly. Note the oil passage slot differences in the roll master vs the old one. My research on the amcforum points me to believe those big slots prevented my cam and dist gear from getting proper lubrication. Timing...

Besides a fuel pump failure and my dumb#!ss self not latching the hood once my jeep has been running well. I've put just over 1000 miles on it. I contemplated switching to an electric pump in tank or just outside the tank but went with a small production mechanical pump brand called Robbmc...

Advice needed on my fender exhaust 360 AMC

With my project jeep I received Hedman fenderwell headers and bolt on mufflers that aren't welded. With all the clamps, brackets, different materials, and header wrap, I think it looks too messy. Is there any good ways to clean this look up? I've got tube rock sliders that will be mounted here...

    Upper seat belt bolt

If you need new bushings for the bolts, I used a shock mounting kit which includes 2 bushings and 2 cup washers.

Got the new bumper welded up, which has saved some weight. Made of 1/4" steel plate, reinforced on the inside with cross plates around the receiver and where the clevis are. 1st attempt ended up looking like a banana but this one is straight enough for my eyes. The old one was 6 x 3 ×...

Small interior update: Finished both of the YJ half door assemblies. I used the same vinyl as the nutmeg seat covers from ebay and SEM colorcoat on the upper door pin holes and grab handle. Now I'm going to attempt to refinish the black dash pad the same way. Knowing the vinyl was used on the...

    1981 CJ8 Project “Penny”

Looks good man, did you try to reinforce the exterior door panel any and the window sill? I've seen a post where someone put a 2" x .25" U shaped steel on the exterior side of the door to stiffen it. I believe they just used a 3m adhesive tape

Finally got the brakes figured out. Took it for a spin around the block last night, then my coolant reservoir blew a hole and the belts were squeeking badly. I'll try again tonight after tightening the belts a bit. When I saw the steam blowing off the headers I thought I was in deep doodoo lol...

I like that spot for an amp the most, if I decide for whatever reason to put a sub in the thing then that's where the amp will go. Dash is finally on, wheels are in, I am so close to driving this thing. Been having some stupid issues bleeding the brakes, other than that the chassis and...

The dash is coming together, just waiting on painless wiring to ship me a warrantied turn signal pigtail ( apparently a bad mold was used at some point) and also a load generator for my retrosound head unit. I decided on bfgoodrich k02 in a 33 x 12.5 r15 size on gloss black wheels. Hopefully...

Bucket, the 1981 CJ8 frame off.

That's pretty slick, better than black tape that's for sure

Okay the glove box still identifies as a "glove box" (y). I suppose I could fit a few small tools in here. Too bad it doesn't lock. Amp controls are accessible if I'm laying on my back with a stubby flat head. I'll have the amp settings finalized before the A/C goes in.

Good input guys. I thought I had the room behind the glove box but didn't account for the heater resistor or cables and it would be too big a pain to deal with and adjust. Until I get a center console I'm just going to remove the glove box all together.. if I'm lucky I'll be able to keep a...
