Front Wheel Bearing Seal,Why 2 Sizes?

OK, is this the first stupid question in this virgin land?

Why are there two sizes of front outer wheel bearing seals for the D30 front end?

2.125" and 2.313" are the sizes, nither of which seem to be what mine measures out to be. Am I measuring the wrong thing or what??

If it is for a Scrambler with stock axles, they should be the 2.313". It has to do with the hub. The hub changed in '79, before that they used 2.125". The older hubs also used the preffered 6-bolt lock-out.
