I purchased a 2019 Nissan NV200 and turned to a traveler/overnight vehicle. I have installed an additional battery under age bed.
The 12 volt battery is a marine deep cycle with an isolator. The wires on isolator are:
1. Vehicle battery
2. Vehicle alternator
3. Ignition source (key on)
4. Auxiliary battery
I want to install an on/off master switch for auxiliary battery, by installing on ground wire of the auxiliary battery.
Would this confuse the isolator?
My objective is to reduce battery drain from all the little switch lights, gauges I have added. Also to reduce chances of fire during long times spent parked.
At this point everthing is working fine, no problems. I believe most people would want the break at the vehicle battery. Switch would be alot simpler to install at negative to auxiliary battery tho. Yes or no?
