Scrambler Rebuild Questions?

Scrambler Pilot
I have been thinking about putting a new motor and tranny in my jeep for prob. a Year now. I'm starting to get serious about it now. I want to start looking for the motor and Tranny. I also want to look for a Dana 60 rear and Dana 44 front w/ 4.10s.
Here is what I have been thinking about:
-Newer LT1 out of a vette' with lowest mileage I can find.
-I'm not sure of the tranny. I definatly want a Standard.
-ill be takine the body off doing, some major cleaning on the frame. Paint the frame.
-I'm going to do a SOA

What are you guys thoughts? Any suggestions on Tranny's? Or t-cases?
-nv4500 are standars arent they? 6.31 first gear also? I mgiht have to look at that

Thanks
Kendal

IMHO, I'd go with the NV4500, it's 5 speed and you get granny low with overdrive, awesome tranny. As for t-cases, I like the Dana 300, it's a stout case with I believe the only weak spot at the output shaft and output shaft housing. Or if you got the $$$(around 2k) you could get an Atlas II, bullet proof, 4-1 low range reduction, and the ability to "clock" it to gain more ground clearance. HTH.
