1984 SL Restoration

Well DL and BJ I was supposed to load everything else last night and get it to painter. I was waiting for him to finish a '30 Ford sedan. Whatever that means. Excuse number one. Excuse number two. Due to me leaving town today, I had to work late last night and couldn't drop it off. Now shooting for Monday or Tuesday drop off. I picked up some yj half doors so this will give me a chance to strip those and bring also.

I did remove the tub from the frame without breaking any of the mounting bolts though. I was happy about that.

LAME:rotfl:

This guy is starting to sound like your previous painter:evil:

The tub and whatever other parts I have left for paint are going to painter today.
I did a get a really nice set of YJ half doors. I striped both doors down to the shells in about 40 minutes. I wish my full doors would have been that easy
I think 1/2 doors give a Scrambler a totally different look when on. I don't know how often I'll actually use them though. I've seen a few pictures where they look sweet with the half hatdtop or bikini.

I met your first painter and he didn't look like he worked very hard.
Hope U got U a good one, make sure they chemical treat any and all surface rust or it will come back in few years.

When I get around to restoring the Jeepster, I'm going to have the whole body soda blasted and then dipped in primer. It's not all that expensive... considering what a bubble in a new paint job looks like.

I've thought about 1/2 doors but when top is off .... nice to hang leg out and get some wind.

That's right, you did meet the the proprietor of Sould Glow Customs, LLC. Int. :rotfl::rotfl::banghead:

Doors are new to me. I've always had full but never used them. Topless only and love that wind.
I plan on using the Scrambler as driver so I'll be getting use to some hard door action.:fingerscrossed:

I am in an unmotivated rut. Hunting season doesn't help either.
I havent pushed the painter. Once he gets paint done I'll start back up...

I think you may have to focus your part purchasing intensity into part repairing intensity? :fingerscrossed:

I really want to see all your stuff on a great looking assembled Jeep.:popcorn:

All parts are just about purchased. I am waiting to get the body back. Once its back in my shop I'm sure I'll get motivated quickly and finish it. I would imagine a few months though.

So that Spanks doesn't rebuild 3 Scramblers before I finish one, I figured I'd start to call my painter and bug him more regularly. Painter says "sprayin red in the next few days". So, I'll bug him every two days but not rush him.

Hunting season has me preoccupied also.

Also, looking for complete or partial factory wood rail hardware. PM me or post if you have some to get rid of. It looks just like these. Notice the torx heads.

Those painted parts look great:cheers:

They look just like mine did about a year and a half ago:D

Yes and No!

I've been putting everything off until after this past weekend. Hunting season just ended and now I can get back to weekend jeeping and socializing

I've been doing some nick nack stuff here and there over the last few weeks but nothing to note.

I should be getting the tub back this weekend :fingerscrossed: and making progress from there.
