How in the world do you fit the rear flares on? it would look like I need to cut them but even then the holes are not going to line up and on top of that they dont follow the contur of the lip on the tub.

I even think they sent my cj7 flares. Has anyone got a pic of crown rear flares installed?

Is it because the rear flares are actually for a YJ?

I have yet to locate any aftermarket manufacturer who actually makes the CJ-8 rear flares. They all just re-package CJ-7 front flares with YJ rear flares.

And folks put em on and run them that way? Anybody got a pic of them installed?

If you got rear flares for a 7 you would know. They are all round. No flat top.

i just installed a set of Rugged Ridge flares and they fit like a champ.

I ordered a set of Scrambler flares from Crown and they wouldn't go on the Scrambler as they were made for a round wheel arch at the rear. The Box clearly said Scrambler/CJ8 on it as well!.
Was gonna be far too much hassle to send them back via a UK distributor etc,etc but they will fit the CJ6 a treat so will not be wasted.
Luckily Jersey had a set of OEM ones that he sent to me or i would be trying to re-shape and re-fit the original ones.

Those would be the same ones on mine. Two for two. So much for "Oh that Omix crap never fits..." ;)

Nice! Happy to see at least one, or even two, aftermarket manufacturer(s) stepped up. (I suspect the Rugged Ridge is just re-boxed?)

Now we just need to convince somebody to make a "wide" rear CJ-8 flare actually designed for the CJ-8!

I bought them from a seller on ebay and it seems he has run into this plenty of times with cj8s, He said he would refund or send me RR or OA flares.

Yeag - RR is Omix-Ada's brand. I've had really good luck with the Omix/RR stuff fitting like OEM.

YEP, The RR OA brand fit like there supposed to, I told the guy selling them that he should remove them from his ebay store cause they do not fit at all in the rear.

So Yes the rr oa fit like the should,

Crown= No good.

Yea that's the one I bought.
Did not fit. The top lip of the flare was about a half inch away from the body of the fender. I didn't want to stretch it to fit as I was worried about putting too much tension on the holes in my body.
