1984 Scrambler (Medicine Lodge)

Had a super nice November afternoon so we broke out the hot pressure washer to clean up the chassis.


Noticed in several places what could possibly be factory check off markings?

This hanger is cracked and will get repaired.





Sticker at the passenger wheel hump. I've heard about this but never run across it on any of our other Scramblers.


Pretty sure these are factory springs, both rears revealed some blue markings.

The driver side toe board has seen better days. Cracked/busted at the body mount.


Replace from Classic fit-up/installation was so/so. Had the wrong size body mount bolt plate. Also took a bit of shaping to get it to fit the tub.



Driver fender body worked and in primer. Still haven't gotten the repair parts to my body guy for the passenger fender.

The inner piece is supposed to be actual OEM stock.
The outers are repo's.
My body guy has done 3 or 4 of these for me now.
He said the inner fit like great, the outers did take a little bit of work to get them where he wanted.

Both doors blocked out and reprimed. Grille and dash body worked and in primer.

4K Silver Metallic. I believe a one year color for 1984.



Plan to make brothers of this Scrambler and the 1986 CJ7 I had painted a couple years back.
The CJ7 still needs assembly. It's been sitting in the auxiliary garage waiting on me.


Both will get blue decal kits.
Scrambler for sure this kit.
Not sure which kit I will use on the CJ7

That’s the color of mine. This touch up is almost 42 years old. I saw it up on top of the delivery truck in the sun and said that’s the color I want.

I’d love to see this color in person. Pretty sure that’s what color dads 84 Laredo was that he had when I was born. He always talked about how deep the color looked.

Decided to include a set of YJ half hard doors with this project.

Also been talking with a dry ice blasting service about dry ice blasting the complete chassis.
