Sorry about the delay, FLCJ8, I just saw this. Yes, I sent Novak my transfer case for rebuild, mated to the new transmission.

I can't stop looking at your pics. I really like the Jeep; definitely unique and will draw a lot of attention. It looks like someone spent a lot of time doing it right too. If it were mine I'd look at a rear spring upgrade to level out the reverse rake. Congrats on the find.

Which upper doors do I need?

This is not a very good pic, but I wanted to show the new cowl seal on top versus the old seal on bottom: I could easily pull the windshield back where I needed it, but I had to use a ratchet strap to hold it while I tightened up the 4 torx screws: Much better: I think this is...

Since I grew up with CJs I like to see one with a decal kit, so I'll probably add one at some point. I have just been enjoying the clean look.

Adam, this may be the only additional pic I have of the bay. I'll send any pics you want if you'll let me know what you're looking for. Overall, I was pleased with Novak. I did get tired of their stock answer for many of my specific questions - no two installations are the same (so they don't...

These pics show installation of Bilstein shocks, stock 15-gallon gas tank that I had previously refurbished, Novak supplied in tank pump assembly, fuel lines from AN Plumbing, brake lines from Inline Tube, front and rear drive shafts from Tom Woods. The front drive shaft install required that I...

A few days later my son was in town. We decided to take the hoisted driveline over the side of the frame rather than the front. It worked. Another set of hands and eyes was big. I like the Novak engine mounts. Six bolts through the frame and a bead weld along to top edge. They're pretty...

    Built Back Better

I've been meaning to build a thread here for almost a year. This thread is post-build, so it will be pretty brief. I'll make it pic heavy since we all like pics, after a short intro and mod list. My history with Jeeps: I got a 1967 Kaiser CJ-5 when I was 17 years old. It had a 4 cylinder...

Which upper doors do I need?

The one installed on my Jeep now, I bought from George Yezman. George had some items that were not easy to get, and the parts that I got from him were good quality. He was on eBay a year or two ago using ID cjlaredo (aka J and G Classics).

I’ve ordered the seal. Already have the tape if I can find it. Thank you

Which upper doors do I need?

Gr8dain, I do not have a hardtop in my plans, but that can change. I've got some TJ uppers that are in good shape. I bought them by mistake years ago. I was going to get rid of them, but I think I'll keep them in case I need to modify them for a hardtop. Thanks for the info. Your Steel...

Which upper doors do I need?

I've been planning on doing that for a while now. I owe it to this group to share pics; I've got a lot of help from the work documented on this site. I'll do it.

Which upper doors do I need?

The Super Top install instructions say that the distance between the top lip of the windshield and the outer top edge of the tub rear should be 97 3/4". I measured both sides and got 99 1/2", so I'm 1 3/4" off which explains some or all of the misfit of the upper doors. Is there a best way to...

Which upper doors do I need?

Thanks Kim and FLCJ8. I’m traveling now, so I don’t have access to the Jeep. I’ll be back next week and have some time to play with your suggestions. I’ll take pics and report back.
