My only comment is the 10" wide wheels, I guess it's doable, but with a 10.5" wide tire I would run an 8" wide rim personally. Congrats on the Alcan route...I've always wanted to go that way or similar...good luck with your re-build!

I'm guessing you are referring to the transmission to bell housing bolts? If so, I would drop the trans and transfer case and heli-coil the bell housing. My guess is it's been that way for a while...like since whoever last assembled it. You're probably OK driving it on the street assuming all...

There is a guy on here occasionally that is a Jeep builder out of FL I think. he has built some wicked CJ-8's that look similar...if you surf around on this site you may come across him. I cannot remember his name or what threads, but I wouldn't be surprised if the same guy built that one...
