    What's on your Work Bench?

Building an factory-ish replica bumper. Had a sheet of 11ga bent into a channel to mimic the factory step bumper look and then drilled and welded in mounting brackets for a set of @Kim Dawson end caps along with brackets for mounting to the rear crossmember. It's 1" narrower than a factory...

    Scout the Scrambler

I considered the 2.8 for sure but the allure of doing an EV conversion was too much, especially after seeing @timo439's thread.

    Scout the Scrambler

I've danced around the idea of electrification but I've finally landed on a motor and battery solution from ElectricGT. With that I obviously won't have mechanical pumps or vacuum, thus the need for electric solutions for power brakes and steering. I pulled a power steering pump out of a Volvo...

    What's on your Work Bench?

Used my new Eastwood 4" metal bender to fab up brackets to mount my electric power steering pump. This little thing handled 3/16 no problem, I think I'm going to get a lot of use out of it.

    Speedhut Color Combos

Sorry I don't have a before shot b/c I never got the stock ones to light up. I went with black dial, white numbers, white glow...definitely has a slight blue/green-ish tint to it. The replacement knob lamps I got are more blue. There's a good thread on here somewhere on how to replace the lamp...

    What's on your Work Bench?

Got my cover from Kim too and it's fantastic. I'm planning to paint it the body color and then use gold on the letters to match my decals. I'll post up pictures once I'm finished.

    OEM Step Bumper Dimensions

Hey @jpnmaine, I'm going to go off of the dimensions that Barry posted above. Hope that helps!

    OEM Step Bumper Dimensions

Thanks again Barry! Thanks for the offer Todd! I think I have what I need now. Would love to do a CO Scrambler meetup at some point, just need to get mine running.

    What's on your Work Bench?

Not Jeep related and not technically a work bench (my kitchen counter). Needed to look forward to warm weather pursuits while the snow comes down.

    OEM Step Bumper Dimensions

Does anyone have, or is willing to measure, the dimensions of an OEM step bumper? I'm thinking about building a rear bumper that approximates the style of the OEM bumper, so I'd love to get the overall length x width x height but also the measurements for the spare tire relief area.

    Door Reassembly Issues

Your suggestion did the trick. I disconnected the glass from the lever channel and slid the glass all the way down, though I did have to temporarily pop off the tensioner thing from the u-shaped lever rod attached to the outside handle. I did have a hell of a time seating the fixed glass all the...

I wish I could take credit for that. I had a local shop do the paint.

Finished one door, on to the other, then hopefully not again for a very very long time.

    What's on your Work Bench?

Took a break from busting my knuckles on the door reassembly and got a quick win by prepping and painting the d300. First hit it with a wire drill attachment, then degreased, then sprayed it with Ospho, then degreased again, then primer, then some industrial Rustoleum I had on hand. Also swapped...

    Door Reassembly Issues

I have the glass connected to the roll up lever channel b/c I was afraid it would drop too far down and I wouldn't be able to get it pulled back up. I'll try disconnecting that and see if it buys me enough room to slide the vent window assembly in. Thanks.

    Door Reassembly Issues

I'm tackling the reassembly of the full hard doors and I've run into a problem where the fixed vent window assembly doesn't have enough room to slide back into place with the new rubber seals and glass in place. The doors were fine and functional when disassembled and nothing has changed about...
