He doesn't race anywhere. This is his first buggy build. Besides that, he is a major flat fender guy. Has 4 or 5 of those and many parts and partial ones in the yard.
Yeah, for sure. I fix his computers and then I can use his shop. I'm going to put Starlink on the roof and patch it into his house as well. And then will run some speaker wiring and get some classic rock cranking.
You can see a little bit of the rock buggy he is building on the very left...
Looking good in my buddy's shop. He has an AMAZING SHOP. We cut some steel and tack welded a spare tire carrier hold open latch. I'll take off the rear bumper and carrier and then he'll finish the welding. Then I'll paint it all and reinstall.
@Jhp243 I have an early Chevy NV-4500 with the 6.34:1 first gear. Been in there since 1989. I got it from JB Conversions at the time.
What do you mean "drag"? If you mean it tries to creep forward when the clutch is fully depressed, mine does not do that. I had a CJ-7 that did.
The guy...
Finally got the full steel doors rebuilt and on. I'll post more pics and a couple of other things I did in my build thread soon.
Really quiets down the road noise vs the full soft doors.
Also, I have nearly 1,300 miles on it since first firing it up.
Merry Christmas to everyone! This one...
By chance, I was listening to the "Modern Jeeper" podcast on my way home from work. It was the November 2nd episode. (#289) This podcast is done by the owner of MetalCloak and he's an industry insider. He mentioned Poison Spyder and Rubicon Express may come back into existence. I don't...
Awesome @spankrjs ! I had not seen those posts before.
It's the FIARB! I have a FIARB problem!
With your description and analysis, I think both of my FIARB's were broken before I disassembled the doors. I don't recall breaking or unfastening them. And my door handles needed to be pulled...

I think they were bought out by Four Wheel Parts. So, you will probably need to order through them.
I have them on my Scrambler. Lots of pics in my build thread starting on page 1...
Hello all,
I am finally ready (I think) to reassemble my full hard doors on my 1982 Scrambler. I didn't take great pics when I disassembled them. I have read a number of threads, including @spankrjs on the reassembly and have one question that didn't seem to be covered.
How does this nylon...
I have 4.56's and 35's in my D44/D60 combo. And I have the early Chevy NV4500 with the 6.34 first gear and .73 5th gear.
You will have more power than my TBI 350. The 4.56's work great for me overall. Easy highway cruising at around 2300 rpm. If I had 37's I might want a little lower...
I'm thankful for my amazing wife and family first of all. Also the owner and admins of this site and keeping it available and streamlined and everyone who contributes and answers questions. I would never have taken on my "Voodoo Blue" total rebuild without the wealth of information on this...
