Thanks for the info.
I just ordered a set with a 15% discount using discount code 15OFFDEC25.
My total cost $16.10 to be shipped my local Toyota dealer. Can't beat that price.
Just wanted to give a big thanks to everyone who posted engine bay wiring pictures. The 401 is finally in and running strong! I got the first 100 break-in miles on it this week. I've still got a few minor wiring adjustments to finish, but I had to get it mobile for a Golden Trout fishing trip...
Now that the 401 is installed and almost ready to fire up, I’m trying to clean up the wiring and could use some ideas. If you’ve got pics of your engine bay with nice, neat wiring, post them up! Always cool to see how others route stuff and keep it looking clean.
Thanks!
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for a hood prop rest bracket that mounts to the right radiator support rod. Mine has been missing for decades and I’d like to replace it with a correct one or an aftermarket one.
If anyone has one available, or knows where I can source a good original or reproduction...
I’d been running an AMC 360 for 30 years, but it started to get a little tired. Rather than rebuilding it, I decided to step things up. Yesterday, I finished installing an AMC 401 in its place. Looking forward to seeing how much more power and torque the 401 brings compared to the old 360.
Thanks John,
I was able to remove the pilot bushing fairly easy using mini grinding stone and a half round cape chisel.
I'll drop the 401 back in next weekend
When looking for hard to find parts call Anaheim Gear. They are a great source for older tranny and transfer case parts. Talk to Eric or Hoss

I’m having an issue installing the 401 engine that’s paired with a TF904 transmission, and I need a bit of help. When I installed the 401 the tourqconverter will not spin freely. It looks like the crank has a pilot bushing. I’ve attached a photos for reference—could you let me know if what’s...
I finally upgraded too and I also appreciate all the help and ideas over the years.
I purchased my Scrambler in 1992. Its primarily used for wheeling here in CA and Moab.
Thanks again....
Thanks,
I have been running this set up with Ten Factory Chromoly for years with now problems. Thought the PSC ram would help with steering when she's all locked up.
I really appriciate the feed back. I'll run the PSC big box and thier pump without the ram for now.
I have looked into the Eaton Elocker and probably will make the change after the Easter Safari in Moab.
