I would say a fair price would be arround 400. I have a 401 bored 40 over and I have NO heating problems. I run the stock 3 core radiator and clutch fan. I also use the stock shroud. I think there is a lot more tourque than a 360. Yes it will bolt up to your trans.
When I had a 304 in the sand...
I had a very bad experience with Howell. I put one on my 401 it ran terrible. No low end cough and puke like a carb. When they try to fix it they charge you for a new chip. 1st $40 2nd$60 3rd $80 after that I sent it back. I lost about $200 because of parts that can't be returned.
I wouldn't put...
Just some thoughts on Moab. If your planning of having a booth at the show on Wed to Fri you need to contact RRFW for a space. I'm pretty sure you can't sell tickets without paying sales tax to Moab city. Now it can be a donation to charity for which you recieve a ticket that's ok. That is how...
I don't think I will make the Challenge. I have been there before. If you decide to shuttle the Charity Scrambler I would help like meet at the Kansas border then meet at the New Mexico border and help shuttle the thing accross.
I know it's amater of opinion. I have flat towed and I would never do it again. I had a 1/2 ton towing a CJ7 when you go arround a curve at 70 and the Jeep pushes the back end arround it is spookeeeeee. I have a tow bar you can have if you really want it. It's resting in my back yard.
A funny story. One Christmas I got a press which came in a box (of course). So it got put in the garage. Then some time later I was changing a front axel U joint and cursing that I sure wish I had a press.
Then it dawned on me. YOU DUMMY you have one. so I had to stop my project to put the press...
Your talking of putting a 5000 lb trailer (with jeep) on a 3000 lb pickup. Can you say tail wagging the dog. You might be able to pull it on the flat but if you come to the mountains you'll smoke that v6. A tow bar is the same problem the jeep weighs at least the same or more than the pickup. It...
If having coils is wrong the I must be RIGHT.
Next what kind of springs do you have and how much air in the tires?
I had some Superlift softride springs that were the stiffest dam springs and the jeep would bounce terrible. A good set of springs would help. The wrangler conversion is easy...
I was a trucker and I hated people so close you can't see them. The easiest way to make it stop is to drift over onto the edge and kick up all the rocks.
I would be interested in a 401 one. I know of another who might be. I know nothing about fuel injection, so a list of the other parts would be helpful. Don't you need some sort of circuit board to run it?
In my opinion Howell and the company are CRAP. I put a Howell on my 401. It never would run right. No low end, cough and puke worse than a carb. When they would burn a new chip to try to correct their problem they would charge you. 1st $40 then $60 then $80, after three try's and still not right...
