    DOJO's 1st OCHO

Is that the OEM trans crossmember with the AX15? If so how much fiddling did it need with the D300 clocking ring and angles? Would love a few more close ups of all that. Planning an AX15 myself this winter. Great progress!

    Pappy's Adventure - 1981 restomod

Couple more fun upgrades before the summer. JB fab twin sticks. Had to bend them about 15* to clear the passenger seat. Retro sounds radio and amp with some Polk speakers. And a Midland 50watt GMRS radio. Ditched the CB. Few more maintenance/check items before heading to Colorado this summer.

22nd Annual Colorado Scramble for 2024

Has anyone made plans/booked their stay for this yet? Planning on being there and looking currently for lodging. Also will it be sacrilege to have a none scrambler join me? Hard to fit my son, my dad and father in law in Pappy all at once :ROFLMAO:

    Pappy's Adventure - 1981 restomod

Got the sniper and hyperspark all wired up and running. Spent majority of my time slowly running and terminating all the wires properly as I could. There's so many off shoots of the harness now with the sniper it's not a big clean loom across the back of the firewall but managed to get it...

    Pappy's Adventure - 1981 restomod

I used Holleys in tank pump. Pricey but plug and play with the rest of their harness. The sending unit measured a better level on the gauge than the OEM sending unit. It's not the same as a cold draft pour but its always stocked in my garage fridge. So far I'm blow away. The idle alone makes...

    Pappy's Adventure - 1981 restomod

Got all the wires and fuel lines connected and fired up on the first crank! The idle was so much nicer than the Carter carb. We let it run for a while and warm up to temp. Discovered a fuel leak. Turns out a pin hole had developed in the bottom of the gas tank. So I ordered a new tank from...

    Pappy's Adventure - 1981 restomod

The dorman plugs were the correct thread pitch indeed. I added a few washers because the plug was bottoming out before the top of the bolt was flush with the manifold surface. Wires, wires and MORE wires. Relooming all this stuff is going to be a project on its own.

Disassembly and clean up is going well. Hit my first road block with the EGR delete. Does anyone know fittings size to plug the EGR hose holes on the intake and exhaust manifolds? Thought about having someone weld a plug on top of these fittings if I can't find something.

    Pappy's Adventure - 1981 restomod

Well here goes nothing! Might be able to start the process sometime this week. Flu has ravaged the household this past week so we'll see. First step is dropping the tank and getting the new fuel pump installed. Excited!

It was single digits last week. Doesn't happen often but when it does why not be prepared. It's already there just need to repair the wiring.

    81 CJ 258 Sniper/Hyperspark install review/questions

I bypassed the manifold heater relay and was able to power the manifold heater successfully. I'm not getting a solid ground from the manifold temperature switch part of the circuit so add that to the list. Read through your whole build spankrjs and gave me some good confidence on my research and...

    81 CJ 258 Sniper/Hyperspark install review/questions

Traced all the vacuum lines and have some questions. First off the jeep was a Colorado jeep so it has "hi altitude" vacuum design. From what I can tell the pcv goes straight to the carb and is not tee'd to the "canister purge" line. I only have a vacuum hose hooked up to the signal canister...

    81 CJ 258 Sniper/Hyperspark install review/questions

Thanks spankrjs! I'll look through yours. Yes I agree the wiring on the new sniper is straight forward it's just figuring out what can be eliminated after. Any pre ignition issues deleting the EGR?
