So I know the block was blue, What about....
The intake?
Timing cover?
Thermostat housing?
Oil pan?
Dip stick?
Water pump?
Harmonic balancer?
Others?
I have seen remnants of AMC Blue on the timing cover and intake.
If someone has a low mileage CJ could they post pics of the engine so we...
I have an 82 Scrambler I am cleaning up as a kick around scrambler. Problem is the bed is pitted bad. It's still pretty solid but so pitted. I wonder could the main middle bed panel be replaced without taking the tub off? Has anyone done it?
Recently I had a CJ that was hesitating under load. Ended up being an issue with too much fuel being pushed down the return line. Blocked off the return line and the problem was gone.
So it got me thinking. Why with a fuel pump that puts out 5-7psi did Jeep bother with a return line? Most...
Here in Middle TN it usually does not stay below freezing long and in the shop (insulated) it rarely gets below 32. Because of that I don't usually use a lot of Antifreeze. Maybe one gallon of concentrate. Well we are at 10deg right now and expected to stay there till Wed. The shop right now...
I have stacks of Carters laying around and I dont feel like rebuilding them myself nor do I have time. Does anyone have a place they have used that rebuilds them and does quality work? Is it too costly? I could just send it to them and they send it back ready to drop in? I have bought the...

Like the title says I sent Bert aka (myfirst8) in Ringwood, NJ a sizable amount of money via paypal for some Jeep CJ parts on
July 4th. He seemed to be a stand up guy on the phone and owns a British Export CJ7. After I sent the money he said he
would ship the 7th. Well a week went by and no...
I got my Scrambler started with a engine harness out of an 81 to make sure everything was working correctly. Runs great with no ECM. I then swaped out the 81 engine harness for an 83-86 engine harness. Once everything is hooked up including the ECM I get not spark. All I did was swap the...
I am doing an 83 Scrambler restore. I ordered the hoses from 4wd.com that say they are for a Scrambler with a 15 gallon tank. After recieving them they are short. I am assuming I have the wrong filler neck? Mine is a shorter style. I took it off an 81 scrambler. Looks just like a Cj7...
I have a completly rebuilt 1983 6cly 258 and everything on it is new. I was not able to get it to start with all the computer wiring so I threw on an 81' engine wiring harness on it (no computer). Started right up. I then went right back to all the original 83 wiring with computer contol and...
I am 75% through an 83 Scrambler restore and my goal is to go back to very close to stock. I have everything to go back to computer controlled carb. I have done this once before with success but am second thinking myself this time. I am wondering who is running all computer controlled setup...
Is there a way to identify the year of a T176 and D300? I am restoring an 83 Scrambler with the original engine but was wondering if there was a date code on the T176 and D300? If so I want to find an 83 T176 and D300. Thanks
Has anyone ever taken two YJ frames and make a Scrambler length frame? The advantage being a more HD frame that is rust free. Let me know your thoughts. Its obviously not for a stock Scrambler but a custom build. I have never seen a YJ frame next too a CJ8 but it seems possible.
