Guys, Looking at both these options. Currently 4.56 gears with 34" tires. 8LE has much lower overdrive that would put me in the range of 2100-2200 RPM at 75 MPH without a gear change (or bigger tires). I know the 6LE is much longer than a 4LE; but from what I have read the 8LE is shorter...

This is the spot I would struggle. Fenders off and the opportunity to clean things that aren't normally easy or temptation to upgrade shock or other fun things (that would sidetrack my timeline). Are you keeping the AW4?

Is that an LS1? I know there are a million version of LS...Just trying to see if there are any LS1 specific swap issue. I would probably keep my AX-15; the LS1 doesn't make "alot" more than the AX is supposed to support. KK

(got the feelings posting an LS swap question - thinking of James Lupo). I have a local friend with a LS1 from a C5 corvette that is CLEAN with only 72,000 miles. Anyone done this in a scrambler? Or is it a bad fit for some reason? Price for a clean low mileage engine is really reasonable.

If I remember correctly; it seemed like all the aftermarket steel/welded headers weren't of great quality and seemed to crack/leak over time. I replaced the one the PO put on mine and went back with a clean cast iron header and that solved the issue. Ironically the 4.0 came from the factory...

I have alcans....wonder if alcan can send me spring rates....that comination of weight and spring rates seems pretty critcal for valving. I looked at the site a litte; but mostly at the baller remote reservoir shocks that were crazy (like $2k each). I'll have to look a bit more.

I'd hadn't of accutune...I like that Idea. Which level of tune did you get? I'm guessing those are pricey and you want to mak sure your done tweaking the springs and layout before you go that route. Here's the full bilstein catalog. I think I mis-spoke earlier...I think the rears are too...

If you can measure for the shocks. I have the bilstiens with roughly 4" lift and the back ones that are recommended are slightly too short....

This seriously needs to be an option...being able to have a safe/tough/bigger option with cheap reliable LS OEM fuel tower would be perfect.
