Edit: I just found this when compiling photos for the funeral home.

Hi All,
This morning I and my son turned on Xtreme 4x4 for the first time and lo and behold we see Scramblers!
The Scramblers Owners Association 2009 National Scramble had a short couple minute feature.
After some Googling, I found this link to an Xtreme 4x4 (PowerNation) episode featuring the...
Hi,
Besides the obvious tip "Don't drill into the fuel tank", does anyone have any tips for drilling & bolting to bed over the fuel tank?
How much room between the bed and top of fuel tank on the stock configuration?
How easy is it to drop the fuel tank?
I need to install some seats and four...
I was reading the story of the father of the family of six (including four children age 3-10) who survived 2 days in sub-zero F* weather in an overturned Jeep. I was initially impressed with the father’s quick thinking to:
- Build a fire (and keep it going for two days)
- Decision to stay with...
Where do guys buy pigtail connectors? (Besides the junkyard. After moving, I don't have any close by).
For my MPI wiring, I'd like to get a wiring harness-side female connector for the O2 sensor.
The same connector was on 1991-1995 YJ's. It's a square/box style connector that is a 4-wire...
I may have stripped the rear most headbolt when I did the 4.0 HO head swap a few years ago (and ~5K miles ago). I just noticed today a puddle of antifreeze on the garage floor directly underneath the rear main.
The other possiblity is that I just need to re-torque the headbolts as I never did...
Over the past 1-2 years (especially the last year), my activity on CJ-8.com has tapered off.
- Got married 2 years ago
- Got laid off 1yr 5 months years ago
- Started a new job 1 yr 3 months ago
- Sold a condo 1yr 2 months ago
- Bought an old house 1yr 1 month ago
- and now.... my wife and I are...
Any one have backup generator recommendations?
Need it for those rare times when the power goes out in the winter to power the well pump and furnace (DC variable speed fan).
Technically, I only need about 3K-3.5K surge, but I'm thinking to get 5.5K+ surge capacity.
Our local big box retailer...
Today's Wall Street Journal Online edition has an article on "hoarding".
Hoarding is a compulsive-obsessive behavior where individuals accumulate and save everything to a fault such that there are only tiny aisles around the home to walk.
Article...
My wife and I want to convert the brick paver patio underneath our deck to a 3 season room.
That means the 4th season (winter), the jeep could be stored there.
Ideally, i'd pour a concrete slab down there and finish it with some wooden subfloor and tile.
BUT, pouring a concrete slab there is...
M20 axle tube leaking "ooze" at inboard brake backing plate (Moser 1pc axles)
The 1st annual CJ-8.com Silver Lakes Sand Dune Scramble is 4 days a way and I just discovered black "ooze" causing a drip at one of my brake backing plates... on the inboard side.
I need your help...
My clutch bellcrank is wobbling (part D) on the pedal end... it wobbles about 1" around the bracket ball.
I need to take it part to see what's causing the problem... last night though it looked like the bushing (part P) either broke or the retainer (part O) came off pushing the bushing further...
I got a lead on Ramsey winch, but it needs work.
For the price, it seems worth it.
The big question is whether I can fix it with my average skills?
I'm going to take a look at it... here's what the seller said about it....
"The mounting bolts are broken in the case (need drill & tapped), plus...
Back in 2004 https://www.cj-8.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8993, I had seepage (just seepage, no dripping) where M20 pumpkin mates with axle tubes. Unfortunately, I got no replies with ideas.
Now in 2008, I got a true leak at the pumpkin where the axle tube mates.
The leaks started immediately...
I need to replace the flywheel ring gear again (it's not the starter, that's brand new).
Do you have any experience with any of these manufacturer's ring gears?
a) Crown (sold by 4WD.com)
b) Quadratec.com (not sure what the manufacturer is)
c) Motormite (related to Dorman)
d) Sealed Power...
After reading this thread https://www.cj-8.com/forum/showthread.php?p=141171#post141171, I thought that posting this following link on "Marriage and Jeeps" would be a worthy public service annoucement for CJ-8.com.

After you get past the first pages "test" question...
Has anyone every had to use a highway tread tire as a spare with MTs?
I already have from the prior owner a brand new, 0 miles 31" Cooper AST (a beefy highway tread) as a spare.
For trail ride trips, would this work in an emergency with my 31" Pro Comp MTs? For example, if I had to drive...
I know many you like to camp like I do. So I'm passing along this free camping grill offer I received.
The models I've seen locally available have an added feature of portability through use of wheels.
I can pickup some good Mud tires cheap, but they are for 16" rims.
Since these will be a second set of tires for off-road use only (I'll keep my 15" rims and street tires), what donor vehicle has 16" rims that:
- fit 1985 CJ OEM bolt pattern, and
- fit around the OEM locking hubs on the front...

The first one is the canoe trip where I proposed... the other two are CJ-8 & canoe photos from this summer.
