    Another gas gauge problem

Update....first of all, thanks to everyone for the help and offers of help. I like "tinkering" on things and knowing how they work, should work, shouldn't work, etc. This was a bear for me, maybe too may other issues kept coming up, getting frustrated when "bolting on" a new part didn't fix the...

    Another gas gauge problem

I'm planning on getting back at it tomorrow. Starting with looking over the new gauges, the old ones have been replaced before. Checking out voltages on wires, sending unit etc. then I'll have my current base line of information to see where I am at.

    Another gas gauge problem

When I dropped the tank to check / replace the sending unit, I checked the ground and sending unit connections, all looked good. I checked the dedicated ground going to the dash cluster, it goes to the housing for the windshield wiper switch, looked good and then I ran another dedicated ground...

Interesting Light Question - 4 separate filaments or bulbs

Yes, exactly what I did...I like the amber turn signals for better visibility and it's just a little different, sometimes a conversation starter. I also have 3 different trailer I pull with the Jeep, all have the amber turn signals also.

    Another gas gauge problem

Yes, temp. gauge works. It never worked well in my opinion, it always reads a little on the cold side, but I think that's a thermostat issue as I also get little heat. but for this issue it seems to be working same as it did before.

    Hardtop Hoist Advice

I don't have any pics of it, but had a buddy weld me up one based on looking at a commercially made one. It sits on top, has two cross members front and rear, then a kind of a J hook on each corner that fits under the hard top when installed. The rear hatch has to be opened to work. The lift it...

Thanks much for the detailed info., I need a warmer day off to go out and see if I can work thru your checklist. To answer a couple questions you had, yes, I determined that the brake light switch was bad....once I was able to reach it I put a test light on it and I had hot tires coming out...

    brakes lights stuck on

Good copy on all of that, thanks much. I'm gonna play my dumba$$ card on this.......am looking for a shorted wire, something came loose or just replace the thing and cross my fingers? If that don't fix it, what other voodoo could there be? I hope it's warm enough next week to get back at it.

    brakes lights stuck on

Greetings........I'm new to the site, long time Jeep and also Scrambler owner. I've had "some" of the usual issue with mine over the years, but have managed to stumbled though until now. I have the same "I hate that switch-switch" issue. I finally popped the dash, lowered the steering column...
