Deacon61, I have a brand new still in box Kayline Belt rail top in black I am willing to sell. I live 1/2 hour south of Knoxville. I am asking $900 for it. I also have installation instructions in a pdf file for same. I can get some pictures if you are interested. I have some full soft doors in...
our 2 brats
Here are our two dogs
Ginger is yellow lab mix 10 now.
Chase is a red tri Australian Shepard now 6
Both are rescue dogs. Ginger came from a family friend that has 2 special needs kids & one more so just could not take care of her. She was dog agressive. Chase had a nasty habit of...
Need help? What you talkin' 'bout? First you have to admit it is a problem. I did recently come to a revelation that I have too many projects so I am selling off some of them. :headbang: This way I can maybe get to my rebuild on my 85 before I die! LOL
Well CJ-8s were made from 81-85 so it ain't a 78. Also not an 88. So couple things- it could be a 232. Also someone could have switched VIN tags. Always with a Jeep ya never know what POs have done! I know my friend had a Jeep CJ with 232 & I had one in a Gremlin. They are good motors still. If...
Well we went on vacation headed to Kentucky & about 6 hours away from home some guy looses control trying to avoid a retread. He slammed into the front of the camper & caused us to jack knife! In process we hit his son traveling in front of him & in left lane (we were in right lane) and moved...
Josh,
AWW MAN! So sorry to hear about it. I met that dog when we swapped seats. Yes hardest thing we ever did here too. We didn't have anymore dogs for almost 6 months then started taking in rescues. Our boy was a big Aussie red merle about 70 lbs (which is HUGE ofr an Aussie). I was scratching...
Glad to have you back! Too bad about the chicken welcome home "gift" (little bass-turds)!
I too was thinking about you & the Scramble in your back yard. I was being a counselor for foster kids then sent to Altanta GA for some training. But I talked the Avis guy into a Jeep Wrangler JK...
see if you can do a compression test of cylinders. That will give you a good idea what shape it is in. I think PSI should be between 120-150- the higher the better.
HAMMER & CHISELS????
BATTERY POWERED TOOLS! :woot:
Wish there was a yard like that around here. That Scrambler tub looks to be in better shape than some of the %$@ I have!
well not to hijack the thread but sounds like you could use a diagram too. Does anyone have a nice diagram or pictures showing the proper fuel line routing? It would be most helpful. :fingerscrossed:
WELCOME!
I would do the Classic parts. They are made heavier than OEM and fit it good. I have known several people that have used them & all were very happy. Now as for rear cross member, There is a guy in Indianapolis Trout Industries that said he could ship me one for $65 + shipping and was...
4.0 head
I bought my 85 with a 4.0 head on it already. A buddy had a CJ7 with a stock 258 (since swapped to 350 pushing 400 HP :woot:). The 4.0 head adds LOTS of punch! Supposedly the gears are 2.73 & I can spin then with T176. It is possible the gears may have been changed but the stamp on...
definitely a better choice than torx head but I still prefer a nice hex head. Even if they get a little rusty, a good 6 sided socket will go over them & usually not round them off. Course any metal bolt will rust eventually. Stainless is also a good choice because it doesn't rust like ferous...
some have learned evil tricks for removal!
For doors, windshields & tail gates hindges, use a heat gun to warm that area good but don't blister the paint. Factory used blue loc-tite on threads & the heat loosens it & then a breaker bar, the right bit and gentle presure USUALLY will let...
So if this is posi (limited slip), then this is sweet! But is it gear driven then cause I don't see any clutch packs. I know the front Dana 30 from this Jeep has a gear driven limited slip. Hopefully this one does too & I will use them in my 85 rebuild & put the solid axles & warn hubs in it. :D...
TWMattox-
If you wanted to try to get it up and running...you could have my rear AMC 20... Otherwise, it is going out for scrap.
Rear AMC 20? What gearing in it?
If polar doesn't want it I might be interested. Or if he does, my son attends school in Columbia @ Mizzou so I might...
When my head lights went out on my 85, it turned out to be the connector to the dimmer switch. The connections had gotten bad & generated enough heat to melt that plastic connector. I had a spare on a parts Scrambler I spliced in & everything was good. I plan to convert to relays under the hood...
WOW! lots of posts since just this afternoon! That will teach me to go enjoy some nice weather! I am interested in the dash with clock & tach but looks like I am third in line. I might be interested in the roll bar too. If it is a wide track, then it has the holes & inserts for shoulder...
