1976 304 question

Im thinking of pulling out the Iron Duke and manual trans and replacing it with a 1976 304 with auto trans out of a 76 CJ7. Im assuming I can pull the parts needed out of the 76 and use them in the conversion. Knowing Ill need to replace certain parts with new..motor mounts and the like. But my questions is will all these 76 parts bolt up into an 81?

I assume Ill need a different drive shaft(s) as well.

Asking this question again because I’m looking to swamp out a 79 304 V8 with auto. This set up does have the quadratic (sp). I’m not looking to use the QT so will my existing transfer case bolt up to the auto trans? The previous thread was lost

The 79 cj 304 should bolt into a cj8. Amc version of turbo 400 to quadratic if i remember the 400 has a output shaft for quadratic. Probably need a adapter kit. Put a heavy duty radiator, 3 core. Make sure you have trans kick down switch (above gas pedal)
