(I tried searching, but I didn't come up with much, I guess due to the move of the forums?)
I have a great opportunity and I want to know if it is possible.

I am rebuilding a Ford 302 out of a '72 ranchero and I intended to get a Jeep of some flavor to drop it into. I always assumed it would be a -7 because I liked the traditional look, but when I saw the Alaskan Postals I fell in love. Now I have a good chance to get a hold of one and I want to know if I can pull off this swap. I don't want something that's never been done successfully or will cause all sorts of problems, but I'm ready for work and I have no illusions that it will be a weekend job.

I took a look at the advanced adapters site and it seems that there's engine mounts and tranny adapters for the Ford 302 in a CJ-8 so I have some hope, right?

Any help is appreciated.

You can put just about anything in a CJ jeep. There seem to be adapters made for every possible type of swap... I have a 350 chevy in my 8 and the small parts to do the swap (and now a new engine cause the old one blew) will eat you alive!!!

Nickle and dimed to death!!!, But it is possible, just installed the proper motormounts, decide with tranny you can go with, measure twice weld once, and start working out some of the kinks that you might find. Driveshaft length, front driveshaft clearance, cooling ability, gauges,,,,it's a fun process!!

BTW I live in Raleigh, and keep my jeep down in Wilson, NC
