Hi All, So my question is on a housing I just found out in my shed (fall cleanout) it is looking like it fits a 4 cylinder engine and has the remote clutch slave cylinder on it . It is aluminum and has a casting number stamped up on the top which is 8952000066 . I am not sure where to look to see what 4 cylinder or year jeep it fits. So any ideas would be great and thanks.

Post a picture or 2 to help ID it.

So you guys got me thinking(which is always dangerous for me)and I called a amc mechanic buddy to one of my kids , and he somehow looked that part number up and stopped by with my oldest kid in tow to get a visual on the bell housing to confirm pretty much what they already knew. Aluminum 4cyl 2.5, 150cu I-4 ,naturally aspirated motor. It will accept t-4 and t-5 transmissions and possibly an sr4 tranny as well. They will fit from 1982-1986 CJ-7 and scramblers . And then we drank beers and laughed and laughed and did NOT get another single thing cleaned out of the garage except my beer. Good times good times. And now we all know the rest of the story,,,,,,Good day.

It could also be an '87 and up 4cyl YJ or XJ because the longer digit part numbers started around then and 895200 is a very common prefix. Almost all AMC part numbers , during most of the CJ run, were 6 and 7 digit only.
