Best way to replace front cab reinforcement channel?

This thread is similar to my others but I now have a specific question rather than asking for general advise.

I am going to replace 3 of the 5 front cab reinforcement channels with Parts B & D below:

forum

Part B runs the entire width of the Jeep from side to side. Part D runs front to back and contains one of the body mounts and one of the outboard seat mounting nuts - it is the outer reinforcement channel and is shorter than the inner reinforcement channel.

This is a picture of my tub lying on the driver's side. You can see part B running from side to side of the Jeep. Part D is removed (shorter and outer reinforcement channel). Part C is still intact (longer and inner reinforcement channel).

My dilemma is that the replacement for Part B from Classic Enterprises comes in two pieces - the seam would directly in the middle of the floor just behind the tranny tunnel opening and between the two inner reinforcement channels. On my Jeep, the inner reinforcement channels are in good shape as is the center section of Part B. I would rather not remove all of Part B and instead I would just cut off the outer portions on each side (the part that contains the body mount) and then cut the corresponding parts off the new Part B from Classic and weld it to the remainder of my original Part B.

This is a picture of the damaged outer portions of my existing Part B:

Does anyone see a problem with welding new outer portions onto my existing Part B or will this be structurally inferior to having one seem in the middle?

Good question & one I will face on at least one of my builds. I think if you did a good weld with good penetration, it would be fine. You could probably also wled the seam then weld a patch over that spanning both parts across the seam. It would not look as pretty but would make it stronger. :banghead:
