Does anyone know if a BMW 3.0 inline 6 engine would fit in a CJ-8? If so, what transmission would work best? Thanks.
 
Interesting thought, I've got a 92 525iT (wagon) with the 2.5 liter inline 6, it's a bit underpowered at 190hp and 190 ft/lbs but is very smooth. They are known to last forever as well. You may be able to get a GM transmission to work, as the auto/slushbox on mine is a GM 4L30E called by another name.
