Anyone have a template for those holes in the dash to install a factory clock and tach? Does such a thing exist?
PLMK,
Thanks,
Drew

Right, I knew that! I still need template or accurate measurements.

I have a Laredo dash that I can make a template for you

Email me at dzney52@yahoo.com and give me your mailing address and I will get it out to you monday. I copied mine from a Laredo dash and cut out mine for my CJ5. The gauges are neat to have. I can make another out of cardboard and send it to you. I have not installed my dash panel yet so it is no problem.
Thanks,

Can someone give me the diameter of the hole I need to cut for the Tach? I plan on mounting mine in a non-standard place and only need the diameter...
Thanks

I emailed you Bill, thank you very much.

template mailed

Drew, I mailed the template out monday in the regular mail. It should work out fine for you. I am glad I still have not installed my dash panel yet and could get you the template.

Like stated above, Also check out http://www.greatcj8.com/cjclocktach.htm

:) If I could do it you surely can ;)

I didn't see any diameters listed above and when I went to that website all it indicated was:

"I used a 2 & ? hole saw for the left hole & was told that a 2 & ? saw would be needed for the right but didn't have one... but I do have a small power belt sander that opened that hole up for me so it did finally fit :)"

So, what size is a 2&? ???

Thanks a bunch Bill, I'm stripping my dashboard down this week so I should be ready to cut this weekend.
Thanks again,
Drew

I think he was using ASCII characters for the fractions, or his HTML editor did it for him, and the final result wasn't recognized so the fraction was converted to the ultimate unknown: ?
The tach is larger than the clock, by a good little bit. I think the clock is 2-1/8 or 2-1/4", and the tach is probably 2-1/2". I'll have to measure mine to make sure.

Anyone??

Did we ever get a positive diameter on the Clock or Tach, or are we still assuming that 2 ?xx is 2 and 1/8? If anyone can confirm the diameter holes for the clock and the tach, it would be very helpful. Every thread about it ends with something like..."I will go out and measure the Clock and the tach, or the holes I used etc" and then nothing more. Anyone???????? Anyone???
Thanks in advance.

Template

It would be cool if someone took the measurements (location and diameters) for those holes and made a sketch to post here. I would be willing but do not have a Laredo dash.

I am also interest in the measurements. I have the tach but not the clock. Once I get the clock I will want to install both at once.

clock and tach locations

clock hole is 2.620" while clock messures 2.600"
tach hole is 2.870 while tach messures 2.840"
both holes are 4inches up from botom lip of dash board
clock hole is 6 3/8 from edge of dash board by door
spacing between edges of clock and tach hole is 7 3/4

Ok,
Drilling the hole for the tach, you say 2.870, ok, that's 2 14/16 right? That means the best hole saw will be 2 3/4" and we will have to ream the hole out to fit 2 and 14/16 right?

2 and 7/8 hole saw would do just fine for the tach, and 2 and 5/8 for the clock....My tach is for a four cylinder but I would think it would be the same size as a six cylinder.
If you notice in the last picture there are dust rings around the holes that is how much the bezzle over laps the holes, so there is some room for a slightly larger hole.
