D300 two piece output shaft

While playing at Grand (disney, ok) saturday, I had an opportunity to upgrade the D300 in my heep. I put Tera 4:1 gears in it 4 or 5 years back. Combining the 4:1 with the 380hp ZZ4 and some 37" tires has taken a toll on the stock output shaft. The challenge is I have a "short shaft" D300. Only made in 1980, it has a different bolt pattern on the output shaft housing then the long style. Looking at Advanced Adapters since they offer an upgrade for this case and will be contacting JB Conversions and Stak to see if they are making one for the short shaft cases.

Anyone have "history" with either of this setups?

You can hear it snap near the top. I'm sure it was weakened on one of the "bumps" to get up the ledges and finally let go.
