Does anyone still run bed rails?

Question... And this seems obvious... until you stare at the side of your Scrambler for a while...

The top rear mounting bolt for the side rails is almost exactly where the "Scrambler" badge goes (would go?). None of the pictures with rails shows this badge. Does this mean the badge is deleted when rails are installed? Lord only knows what AMC would have done, but I can't see the badge being moved anywhere -- so I "assume" it's simply removed... The FSM shows emblem placement, but doesn't say anything about rails one way or the other (in either the emblems or the accessories sections).

Can one of you guys who know way too much about this stuff help me out here?

This thread got me thinking, and question occurs to me;
Did any come with bed rails and a roll bar mounted spare tire? Cant recall seeing that combo.

Yes, I can confirm that. My 1983 SL has both.

Mine came that way, the 83 SR above. . But I couldn't stand the butt of it looking bare with those rails sticking up so I moved the spare to the rear and let that stick out the back ... [emoji6]
