Speaking of Jeep SE snow plows...

Not many snow plows in TX but this banner has 3 Red Jeeps :)

Recently met up with a guy who worked for AMC for 25 years as a zone service manager and then head of Jeep SE. This real testing photo sans helmet best describes some of the stories he told ;)

The factory installed snow boss package was mainly a 70s thing on FSJs. But here's a cool ad i found dated 10/81, complete with the scrambler ! ;).

While there never was a snowboss embossed package for the CJ, dealer installed plows were available as noted.

Let's get back to the Jeep "hotties" and their CJ photo spreads. :)

Here's an early, early, early Scrambler alongside an early-'80's hotty on the beach.

Doesn't it appear that the "SCRAMBLER" hood decal had been photo-shopped onto the Jeep?

Could they do "photoshop" type stuff back then? I guess they could for modeling, so probably for car ads too.

Here's another early, early, early CJ-8 Scrambler...yes, this one is both a CJ-8 and a Scrambler (and it's probably the same one from the above photo). Besides the distinguishing features noted about early CJ-8 Scrambler models at the beginning of this thread, this photo also shows the unique location of the "Jeep" badge on the lower rear passenger side, as well as what appears to be a "CJ-8" badge on the lower rear driver's side.
Hmm...this may dispell any myths that a CJ-8 isn't also a Scrambler. :)

Look closely...

A fully-clothed hotty, but for early-'80's...still a hotty. The hood graphic appears that it was added after the photo shoot, as though AMC was still kicking-around name ideas and didn't have it dialed in yet.

Bummer, she's already got a hiking partner. Oops, somebody forgot to shop-in the hood graphic on this picture!

Okay, maybe it's a different gal and a different early CJ-8 Scrambler.

These early press photos indicate very early "assembly" of the first scramblers but no production 81s ever had the badge lower under gas filler or those style hood names etc. awesome early pics ! Notice how the rear fastener for the wood rails is only a single bolt and not two that production models had.

Another one i have, likely same one:

Mark - you should've said those were old photos of you and your Scramblers!!

Early Hood Graphic:

Now you see it...

Now you don't...

Alright, these are likely two different CJ-8 Scrambler Jeeps, and the photo of the hood graphic in the first picture looks real, and not photo-shopped.

I thought of that deception, but you guys probably would've busted me because they aren't Laredo models.

Oops, I just noticed that I don't have "Laredo" noted in my signature...bummer, that would have been a fun conversation piece, deceptive or not.
:)

Here I am with my girlfriend hiking in the Colorado outback, circa 1981. This picture was taken just after I had taken delivery of my new CJ-8 Scrambler. What a fun trip!

Do you think anyone would have fallen for that description?
