Factory Windshield Frame

Did the factory windshield frames off the 1984 year production have a rib or was smooth? Any other identifying factors?


 
1984 would be the single rib down low by the seal. Late 83 or the start of 84 was when the windshield frames got that rib.
 
Thanks jersey, is there a thread that goes through the 81-86 years on the windshield frame ribs etc?


 
I don't believe we do. But 81-83 scramblers would have no rib. And aftermarket frames almost always had two ribs although lately I have seen aftermarket ones have just a single rib trying to look oem but the metal is oh so thin and edges and spot welds etc are oh so crappy.
