Gas Tank skid plate installation question

I just installed my new skid plate for the gas tank and broke one of the rear bolts that holds it in place. Fortunately it was on the very end where I thought i could get to it with out taking everything apart.

Problem is while trying to get it in i droped it and it fell into the skid plate!! Like a DA i did not anticipate this.

My concern is that if i leave it in it will eventually rub a hole in the polly tank.

Any ideas or thoughts on this? I hate to completly take it apart again after just getting it installed but would much rather do it now than later if it will cause damage to the tank....

Thanks
SC
