I need to replace the factory clock and tachometer. Any suggestions for quality replacement gauges ? The lights in my current gauges seem very dim. Is there a brighter replacement bulb I can use ? Thanks.

Gauges

Auto Meter makes a 2'' replacement gauage and i think Equus is another one. I have used the electrical replacement gauges from 4wd hardware.

I would bet that your gauge lights are dim due to either poor grounding, or a worn out dimmer on your headlight switch. You should pull the bulb retainers and sand a shiny spot in the metal for better contact. You can also run a ground wire to the base of the gauges to improve your grounding. If your dimmer is in good shape then you should see a noticeable improvement. If not, then you need a new headlight/dimmer switch.

Later,
Tom
