You should remove the exhaust manifold with the intake manifold at the same time (258 engine). Make sure you drain the radiator part way first then disconnect the hoses and any other connections on the intake also. After removing both manifolds then you disconnect the EGR recirculating tube.
not really that bad-the far outer bolts on each end are you primary concern that they are out-the intake and exhuast will come off together-is your header a clifford-if it is it will fit-if not good luck and let us know how it went-the clifford that i put on mine was the only header that i ever put on,GM,FORD,DODGE, and all that fit and i didn't have to cuss and beat and bend to fit.But you will be happy with the results-JC
I forgot...use PB Blaster on all the bolts. I usually hit them the day before and let it soak a good deal. At a minimum, a few hours of soak time will work. That stuff rocks!
A simple and cheap suggestion- whenever spraying down bolts and nuts, when I can let the thing sit for a few hours, I build a dam of plumbers putty (found at any hardware store) around the area to be sprayed. If you form it right, it will hold almost any chemical in place- allowing more to soak in. A trick of my trade.
