Howell EFI for high elevations

I’m considering replacing my Carter 2bl with Howell’s system. My motivation is three parts. One, there’s a hesitation-cough-sputter at one point, when RPMs are going up, that I can’t get out. That’s not the end of the world since I just poke around. Secondly, it is so cold natured. Again, that doesn’t justify spending the money to me. Lastly, and probably the catalyst to my decision, is taking it to our home in Angel Fire New Mexico for part of the year. We are at about 9000 feet. I haven’t taken it up there yet, but would expect the carb to struggle.
Howell said that the MAP will adjust itself when there’s an elevation change
Have any of you experienced this? How well does it work?
