That's easy. It's getting thru the failures of doing it wrong along the way and not giving up is the hard part. There's lots of trial and error that's missed by the pics that I have posted for sure. I think I'm on version 5 by now.

I found some 16" Fox air shocks for the front end so I can start building the front hoops and cross brace when I get back to it. Did some measuring and it looks like they should fit. It's crazy that I should be able to get 16" shocks to fit for how small this thing is. Full size Jeeps struggle with 14".

I'm off to do some more riding this weekend again while we have good snow. Last weekend it was waist deep in the woods. We just got a couple more inches today so this weekend should be epic again.

I've held off as long as I could so under protest in need to finish the metal work on the tub. While it's off of the chassis, here's a pretty good look at how the chassis is set up...

After a long wait because of a national backorder, my Method wheels finally showed up for the little Jeep. YAY! These things are hot!

I forget to mention an issue that I had with those Mongrel tires that I purchased from Amazon. This past weekend I was poking around the garage looking at the tires and I noticed that these tires have date codes on them because they are DOT approved tires. Two of the tires were dated as manufactured on the 53rd week in 2013 and the other pair was dated the second week in 2014. These tires are already over 2 years old before I even get to install them. Needless to say, these tires are being returned and the replacement set should show up today. I just hope that the new set was manufactured pretty recently because they will get sent back too if not. Maybe that's how Amazon gets the low pricing on things because of the age.....Grrrrr

Most People would never stop to check that. I do now after attending a class given by Michelin Tires. I never knew before that tires shelf life was only 5 years. For instance, my insurance company requires me to change the tires on my Motor Home every five years regardless of mileage.
When I buy tires now I always tell the salesman that the tires can not have a born on date more than 6 months old. You might be surprised how many old tires you have bought.
 
Tire dates are a big deal out here in the desert. The sun kills tires long before the tread goes away. I see people all the time with projects buy their tires long before they need to. Then by the time it's driveable, the tires are nearly used up. I don't have a problem with purchasing the wheels because sometimes the build centers around the offset and size. The trick is to get a worn out set of tires to build around in the meantime. I've gone as long as I can without having the correct wheels and tires. I just couldn't find a set of these tires that were worn out.
