there is a support bracket for the AM/FM/CB radio, does anyone have one for sale or any dimensions and I'll fab one.. thanks

Here's a thread. Looks like Eric or Polarfire might be able to help you if it's the same as the AM/FM
 
Im bringing this thread back...The bracket Im looking for is for the AM/FM/CB. I believe the support bracket is different than the one mentioned here for the plain AM/FM radio. If there someone can give me a sketch with dimensions I'll have one made if some one has one for sale even better...

I'm looking for one, too. So if you find one, send me some photos and measurements so I can fab one up!! Or if some hoarder out there has two, I'll buy the second one!!



 
I need one too. I can't fab squat though, so one of you make an extra!
 
Aren't the radios the same depth? I never seen a bracket on the cb unit only on a am fm unit. Ill take them out and measure later..

The AM/FM/CB is much, much deeper than the factory AM/FM unit. No support bracket is needed. It will be so wedged up against your defroster duct it won't be going anywhere. Most guys I've seen even remove their defroster duct with the AM/FM/CB to get the radio to sit at the right depth relative to the dash panel face.
 
Ok heres what I got on my cb units. There is a bracket but not sure where it hooks up to as I hadn't installed it yet. Next to it is a "am" which is all i have on had at work to show depth. Now bracket has been there a long time as its shiny underneath. But again I cant be 100 percent sure as I never had one still in a cj. I pointed the brackets up to show it better...

I know for the AM or AM/FM radio (for a CJ), the bracket attaches to the back of the radio, turns down, comes forward the length of the radio and mounts to the back of the dash panel. Note: not a factory bracket but how the factory bracket mounts up.

My guess is that AM/FM/CB bracket is FSJ or AMC car.
 
Its been so long since I replaced a radio in a CJ that I cant remember what the bracket looked like..I like Mr B's as it feels it also supports the radio, but the one that BRKLYN shows certainly looks more Jeepish LOL
