A little early in the fall for me, I'm afraid. I'm going to be in western North Dakota, but from mid-November through early January. How far is Lander from Dickinson, ND?

If I am not Hunting during that weekend and I can swing the time off and $$$ I will see if I can make it.

Dave, Sorry, but Bernice and I won't be able to make it this year. We are going to Moab and run the 3 day trip over Hole in the Rock Trail.

Hope you have fun.

Wind River Labor Day Jeep Ralley

Well The Labor Day Wind River Jeep Ralley was a good success. We had Twelve Jeeps and oone Scout. On Saturday We only had nine to start so we all went on one trail togeather, Maxin Basin Trail. An hour into the trail one of the Jeeps Broke down, then the guy helping this jeep blew a hub. We got them both patched and they headed into town. The afore mentioned Scout broke down at the end of the trail, his new 4:1 transfer case decided that it did not want to be married to the transmission anymore, we trail fixed it and headed into town. We got back to the RV park and had a BBQ and campfire, we also held elections and had our first meeting of the Wind River 4x4 Association, yours truly was elected President, as of yesterday we have 20 memebers. The two jeeps that broke were fixed and ready for the next day. Sunday we had 12 jeeps and one Scout. After a few minor repairs to aother Jeep we sent two groups out. One to Shone Lake Trail and The other to Christina Lake Trail, both over 10000 feet above sea level. Just as we started one of the Jeeps that broke down on saturday would not shift into gear and he ended up taking it home to make repairs, transmission shot ordered a new transmission. The Shoshone group had a great time and had no breakdowns. The Christina Group, we had a great time but that darn Scout had transfer case problems so i followed him back to town to make sure he made it safely. The rest of the group had a great time, and both groups arrived back at the park for a steak dinner with all the trimmings, campfire, door prize giveaways, and awards. The owner of the Scout got most break down awards and i was elected ugleist Driver . Monday we did a impromptu ramp test, Unlimiteds with 3.5 lifts have great articulation. Pictures to come soon. Four jeeps went up fairfield for luch and came back. I was the only Unlimited at the Rally. On sunday we had a Scrambler from Colorado with his family. Dave
