Silver Lake Dunes -- September 18th

Hopping the red eye out of Rochester at around 5am on Saturday. So, we'll be ther in the am sometime. I don't remember how long it takes to get there. I was thinking we'd meet somewhere in Silver Lake? Or, if you're on the way, we could swing by and convoy the rest of the way. If we decide to meet at the dunes we should pick a meeting place/time beforehand. My cell phone doesn't work out there. I could call you when I'm an hour out of GR or something like that.

As I expected, work ramped up quick. I'm hoping to bang out the project I'm working on before we leave. If not we may need to bust out late Saturday, or super early on Sunday. We may have to figure that out on the fly. It's difficult to plan things in advance with my job.

You guys will be in good company- The early CJ5 boys will be there, looks like there should be quite a few.

I have been out wheeling the past 3 weekends, don't think I'll be able to make this one.

Cool. How will we know how to identify this group of people? (note implied sarcasm :D ) Sorry to hear you won't be able to make it John. I'll have to plan a trip down your way next Summer when the Scrambler is up and running.

You actually may see some CJ6s and Flattys in the group as well.
Mike Boyink from the site has a new CJ6 that he wants to take out, but wants to have a full cage in it. (I don't know what he decided to do- bring it out as is, or try to grab an extra seat)
He has an interesting site for '6s, and my friend just bought his old CJ6 project.

Craig, have you been following the Silver Lake Jeep Show threads on MJ? Any interest in checking it out while we're there? Grace's attention span will probably be pretty short (unless I can brainwash her that car shows are cool -- I can dream can't I?) so I doubt we'd be able to spend too much time there. Regardless, t's sounds like it will be a great weekend to be up there -- lots of vintage Jeeps.

Yeah, I have. Sounds fun, but I'm with you...I think it would have to be a relatively quick walk-through given kids' short attention spans.
