Torque arm question

Recently changed the engine (I6 258) and transmission (T176) mounts. Kit also came with torque arm bushings and shaft. Is the bracket that the transmission mount sits on considered the torque arm? Does the shaft just go through that bracket and through the skid plate? Is there anything else that is supposed to hook up to it? Just looking at it, it doesn't appear to really do much as it sits so loose in the bracket. I thought maybe I was missing another part that attached to the transmission somewhere, but after watching some videos and reading other posts, it doesn't appear so. I ended up leaving it off, but will go ahead and put it back on. Any harm in leaving it off?

Appreciate the info.

That's how it works. I think of it like a limiting strap. You can drive without it but when you get the Jeep in a bind your drivetrain will want to torque roll. It's worth putting in, but mine is out right now.1000113968.jpg
