What to do with the original paint?

.
.

Anxious to see that original paint come back to life - bet the results will be very similiar to Dylan's, w/ just a little more patina on the hood.

Are you driving or trailering it out to Moab?

Bringing paint alive 101--Here are P/N's in order of use
1. 3M Perfect-It rubbing compound #06085, use with a white foam waffel pad
2. 3M Perfect-It II polishing compound #05996, use with a black foam waffel pad
3. 3M Imperial Hand glaze #05990, by hand with a microfiber towel

IMO steps 2 and 3 are overkill for a Jeep but if you want to take your street rod to Goodguys you need to know all 3 :)

do small sections, you can do all 3 by hand (I use the waffel pads with my hands too) it just takes longer.

Yeah could you post those part numbers I need to do mine.
Thanks
If you want it really good...
1. Clean your Jeep
2. 3M makes a buffing compound in a purple bottle, use it with a white waffel pad on an orbital
3. 3M makes a buffing compound in a black bottle, use it with a black waffel pad after you do the white (this removes the scratches from the white, do not mix buffing pads)
4. 3M makes a hand glaze and use it after #3 with a hand held microfiber towel. (this removes the scratches from the black)

For a Jeep steps 1 and 2 are plenty but if you want the best... buy this stuff at an auto body supply house, I can also get you exact part numbers if you like.

When we shoot for show quality, this is what we use to bring em alive.
