wheel advice needed

Apparently, the tire wobbling I am getting while I drive is because my wheels are bent. They are the standard white spoke wheels, 15X8, and have "Made in Canada" stamped on the back (does this mean they are the original ones?). Anyway, I am currently running 32X11.5 and plan to go to 33X12.5 when new tires are needed. I was told by a friend to spend the money for Mickey Thompson billet aluminum wheels (he said about $150 each, but I haven't checked yet) to ensure no future bending.

What are your thoughts on this? Any other recommendations or advice? What about purchasing used wheels? BTW, its an 81 with widetrack axles, 2.5" suspension lift + longer shackels.

I have attached a picture of my jeep when it was running 31X10.5 tires. It has stainless trim and balck tops. Would aluminum wheels look as good as white wheels on it?

I've always been parrtial to the aluminum wheels myself. But, yours does have a certain continuity with the white wheels. Have you considered getting some aluminum wheels and powder coating them white?

First, that is a very nice looking Scrambler. I'm sure it's a head-turner. As far as the wheels, I don't have any experience with the Thompsons. What I plan to do is buy some of the wagon wheels from Discount Tire. If my old ones are not bent, I might get the DIY powder coat kit and give it a try. I've seen used ovens for $75.00. I would just do one at a time. Also, buying the used ones and powder coating them might be the way to go. Anybody have any experience with the home powder coating kit? - Dwain

I think I'll try and save some money now by going to the American Racing white wagon wheels, and take my chances on them not bending. Anybody used these wheels?

I think the ones I have now are the original cj wheels because they have the holes between the lug nuts so that I can use my (original?) Jeep hub caps. I guess I'll have to drill the AR ones to accept the covers. Has anyone else done that?

American Racing steel wagon wheels (black) is what I have & at $41 apiece- if I bend one I'm chuckin it & gettin another!

PS- Hey, I just looked at your (nice) Scrambler & honestly, you can't go wrong with the Am racing whites!! (loads cheaper-too!)
