Where to put the stickers?

I feel like this is a stupid question but I’m looking at my hood (off the Jeep) and I’m trying to figure out where to attach the SCRAMBLER decals. I don’t have any reference to the fenders or the body because they are not on. I could wait for later but it would sure be easier to apply decals with the hood off.

So, my question is, if I want the letters to appear level with the body, can I follow the line of the base of the hood? The hood itself tapers thick to thin from windshield to radiator support. Any suggestions?

They did vary from the factory, as typical from AMC.

Attached are photos of my 82 with original decals. About 2 5/8” from bottom of hood. They start 2” from rear of hood. 428F6445-F486-4981-A5B5-84EC0134353F.jpeg4E6C86FE-83A8-4206-9111-1192AA804CF2.jpeg

This is an original paint 1981. Picture taken in the mid 90's, 2nd CJ8 I owned (4 cyl auto). Sold it to the guy that is the original reason why I am a Jeep guy know(he had a 350 np435 in his 8 back in the early 90's. He bought it for the 4.10 axles and chevy bell housing automatic. JEEP.COM was his for a short time in the beginning of the internet, he moved on to Unimog's)IMAG0619.jpg

Worked out pretty good. Have a small crease in the “M”. May replace but I will wait and see how it looks in place. Thanks for the help guys.
