B-D Company purchases Specialty Top Co. patterns and equipment!!!

Is there any date that they will be putting a top out for sale?
Im going to need one soon.

Heather had stated in a previous email that she has had several emails expressing interest in full length soft top. It would probably be a good idea to go ahead and email her if you are interested in a specific item (full length soft top, half soft top, tonneau cover) and if you would need new hardware as well. Probably wouldn't hurt to let her know if you would be needing a specific color and tinted/non-tinted windows too although I'm not sure what their production plans are with the color and window options.

Emailed yesterday expressing my interest in them manufacturing the tops etc. Great thread. Thanks!

This is great news. If the top is a heavier material then noise will be lower. I would much rather go that route than the hardtop that my wife is pushing. I just don't want the heavy hard top. I will send an email as well.

Spoke to them earlier today. They stated that they could have the tops for sale by the end of May. This would be perfect for me

On their website they are asking for a test fit vehicle. Anyone gonna do this???

Karl

Just spoke to the company. They need somebody for a test fit. Nobody is set up to test the fit yet. Get over there guys, you could get a great deal.

Called Heather, gave her my number. Apparently they're needing some of the various runs of STC and Kayline tops, of which I have one that may or may not be what they already have a version of. Guess they're having trouble with window and door fitment. I also offered to be a guinea pig.

Lastly she said the tops will be made to order, will be available in most any color (except for red), and they will be having the half tops and tonneaus!!!!

Extra-awesome!

Simply AWESOME!!!!!!!! Hopefully by the time they get all the bugs worked out I'll be able to afford one. Has anyone heard a price range yet?

Heather gave me a rough estimate on a price a few months ago in the $1300-1800 range, but she said was just going off of their scout top prices and it wasn't set in stone. It is higher than a bestop in price but you have to remember, the quality of workmanship and material will be far superior! She also told me the quality will exceed Kayline as well! Plus, not only are the tops going to be made in the US, but the material for the tops is made in the US as well! To me, that alone is worth spending a little extra for a top! When I sent my full length soft top to them, they mailed me a color swatch booklet with about 30 different color/texture options. I am not sure if all of them will be availiable but no one will have a problem finding a color/texture they like.

I am waiting to hear back from Heather on if they want me to send my STC tonneau and half soft top to them or not. I also told her to let me know if they do not got any Scramblers to test fit on as I could bring one of mine out there from Kansas. I have a sister who will be attending the University of Colorado next year and already have family in Denver so my family is traveling that way fairly often. If I hear any more, I will let everyone know!

sounds like y'all have it covered, I could run mine up from NM if they dont find one, about 7-8 hrs in the jeep. Please post up if you hear they dont have a guinea pig, or if they need other top models, I have a couple variants as well
