Will a 75 Cj-5 Grille fit a Scrambler?

Oh
Well, the last remaining steel piece of Scrambler body is pretty much being held together by the stainless grille cover. It's bad. Real bad. I want to ditch the stainless in favor of a white or black grille. I've got the Cj-5 parts jeep with a solid grille. I know that the earlier cj's had shorter FENDERS, but are the grilles swappable? Before I go to the trouble of driving to and removing the old grille I figured I'd ask the collective here. Thanks in advance!

I installed a late CJ7 grille in an early CJ5, so I'll go with yes too.

Beautimus... That old cj may end up being the best thing I bought for the Scrambler.

75 fenders should be the same shape as well, just different cut outs for the shocks

What year did the hood/fenders change for the 258? '70?

The turn signal will have 3 bolts instead of 2... and will be tear drop shaped to the left instead of round... and will require different l ights and lenses which are a PITA to find... I swapped my 76 grille (which was a 75) for a newer one when I re did it... still have the 75 on the wall as a trophy.

You can just barely see it on top of the nutmeg bikini top... it is Orange (not the DJ one, which is tan)

The one I swapped in...

I don't think we can tell much from the picture, but here's the best one I have of the donor grille.http://

And a broader pic, I'm thinking of cutting these fenders if they'll fit as well.http://

If you guys don't mind, how about throwing out things that I should get off of or out of this hangar queen before I scrap it.

Things that would/could interchange.
304/t18/d20 case.
Wheels
Front driveshaft?
Etc...

Things that won't but are commonly looked for by cj5 guys...
Windshield and frame?
Nt axles?
Etc...

I'd certainly appreciate it.

(Anyone need a set of Scat Trac tires!)

Maybe different in the States but every CJ of that era i have seen has a nice Dana 44 on the back with 11" brakes and 4.27 ratio which is just about right for 33 inch tyres. I have one bolted under my Scrambler for that very reason but it may of just been a RHD export thing:shrug:

Rear should be dana 44 , probably 3.73 ratio
Spring perches need to be move to fit 76-86 cj
You need to save the front and rear
Front has 6 bolt hubs

I think 77 is the first year disc brakes were available as an option, and standard in 1978

I think !!

Drum and Disc wheel hubs are not interchangeable, you would need to purchase some 6 bolt hubs suitable for discs if you wanted to do that as they are machined differently.

Any idea if the front driveshaft would fit the scrambler? I'm sure it depends on the transfer case. I should probably just measure the two? See how easy I make this...
