Will a 75 Cj-5 Grille fit a Scrambler?

I think 77 is the first year disc brakes were available as an option, and standard in 1978

I think !!

Agreed... he didn't mention drums, just the 6 bolts, so I figured maybe it was swapped out... I guess he will have to make that call.
But absolutely yes, you can't put drum outers and just swap to discs... there are Clarance differences in the spindle if I remember all the trouble I had when trying to do it... I just ended up cutting out an axle from a 79 or 80 and swapped all the parts over.

They are drum front brakes. I THOUGHT I read somewhere that you could swap the hub and spindle and convert the drum to disc then swap onto the 82 axle but it seems like there is a lot more to it. I'll keep the axles and the frame is remarkably solid for an Ohio jeep. The 304 is not seized, the transmission and transfer case will stay, I'll pull all the small stuff I can and just post up here when I get it taken apart and see if anyone needs/wants anything.

I did the conversion on the 72 Commando from drums to disc breaks from a 78 CJ5
It was the big break set up with 1-1/8" rotors
The knuckles will work but you will have to grind out a hump in the Knuckle where the bump stop is to clear the caliper

It's just easier to replace the entire knuckle and assembly !!
You probably need new lower and upper ball joints by now anyway !
