Back from the mechanic, the horses now have power and a custom exhaust with magnaflow mufflers.

More prep for the T176 swap in the '85 last night was to run this donor thing enough to synchro shift through 4th in 4LO and no brakes to make sure the trans is ok. I coulda popped the cover, but this was more fun. The firewall is so rusted that the belcrank has no effect on the clutch. It's only got about 45 k original miles on it but was a plow jeep. Trans seemed to check out ok :thumbsup:

A couple days ago. Loaded LJ up with 10 boxes of 18x18 tile and a couple of 50 lb bags of mortar. Would have use trailer but it was full of garbage. Good thing its only a 10 minute drive at slow speed.

Ummm, You're missing your windshield... and passenger seat, and floor board, and gas tank. If you catch whoever stole them, I'd give them a stern talking to

It will die so others may live :)

Believe it or not it has a zero rust and I mean zero dash pad w frame and dash panel. It's like it was one of 100 jeeps that the windshield didn't leak.

I swapped out my clutch slave and master..!!! (assuming it is a "semi-common" activity.. I take it pics aint reaaaaalllyy needed on this..??)

ammmAAAAAAZZZZIIIInnggg how much difference that makes in shifting..!!!!

monday I will be putting on a pacesetter 6 into 2 header (silver ceramic that
i got for a blazing 200.00) with the 2 into 1 collector.. AAAFFFTER I weld the flowmaster can on it..

and removing the stock exhaust mani, with cat/can.. (will take pics of that if anyone stuck in a "commie/greenie-controlled" area of the nation needs to purchase.. it will be available for sale/shipping.. aint very old at all)
 
almost forgot..!!! (gasp). the other day, was complainin to the guy I got the scram from that it is pingin'' like a squirrel on meth under load in 5th, and he says.. " well hell, son.. the timing is off !!!"

at this point my "no kiding, numb-nutz" meter is kicking in..

but he came over, and rolled it back 6 degrees, and that put it at 20 total advance..

still pinged, so he rolled it back another 4 degrees..

good to go..!!!
 
Got rid of the SR4 and installed a T4. Simple swap that would have been simpler had we not ruined a u joint removing a driveshaft.

Took it for a ride down the road for the first time and to call it squirrelly would be an understatement. Looks like some steering upgrades are in major order. Transmission did awesome, though (I now have reverse!)
 
Wow. Some busy Scrambler owners. I just got my radio working again. And I was proud of that. Then drove it to the jewelry store to get my wife another birthday gift. But you guys make me feel lame. Congrats on all of the hard work.

Headed down to Spring Green (home of Frank Lloyd Wright Taliesin) for their Art Fair..looked like it was going to rain all day, took the bikini top just in case but nope went from overcast to sunny back to overcast all day, got home mowed the grass. One nasty rain storm just blew by us.
 
Got the automatic out yesterday. For the most part it came out ok. Other than the working on the floor part and the 85 degree humid weather part.

Got some parts to install. Not too exciting. But replacing a defective 12v outlet and adding some USB power. Thanks for the suggestion Eric!

What's the best way to wire things in? I don't want to add more household wire nuts like the PO.
